Work, Time, Money

Since getting my dev server up and running again, I’ve been working my butt off to finish the applications that I’ve been working on for my new employer. I’ve finished the backbone of the whole application sweet today, and I plan on jumping right into a re-write of the first of three applications that I am trying to complete. I am going to set myself a deadline, but I don’t know which days I will have to myself to do this work, so I will have to wait until I can find out my hard schedule.

In my free time, I’ve mostly been watching a few shows with Myriah. We’ve recently watched Medium, Law and Order SVU, Aliens in America, and The Office. Each of these pretty much were on separate nights, and we are swiftly falling behind in the number of shows that we have to watch. It’s just so hard to find time lately to do anything for leisure. With Myriah working 9+ hours a day, she is very tired, and we generally don’t have the energy to stay up late anymore, so we fall behind. But work obviously comes first, so we can’t begrudge the time too much.

Lately, I haven’t been able to get to sleep too early, and Myriah has been really tired. So, I’ve been trying to read through my large shelf of books that are lined up for me to read. I recently finished A Confederacy of Dunces (Link at bottom of post). It was quite possibly one of the funniest books that I have ever read. Maybe if I get around to it, I’ll write a proper review.

I just started quite possibly one of the best books that I’ve read in a very long while: Snow Crash. It’s equal parts CyberPunk, alternative sci-fi historical and a great action adventure. I’m really loving it, and I’m glad that I had Myriah pick it up for me.
