About a year ago, I posted an article about how I was going to clean up my office surroundings. This went completely into hibernation, and nothing was ever done to complete this monumental task.
That is, until yesterday. Check out the before and after photos below.
Here we have my workspace. The year ago photo is completely cluttered and filled with all kinds of unnecessary garbage. Today, with the addition of a new corner desk, things are a lot more tidy, and I am able to actually move around and do some real work.

One big thing to note is that yesterday I discovered that there is actually a floor in my office! No more hopping over piles of trash, broken computers and piles of books.
During this cleanup, I netted:
- 5 Kitchen Trash Bags of Garbage
- Uncountable Numbers of PC Component Retail Boxes
- A Van-Load of To-Be-Recycled Electronics
- Piles of Papers To-Be-Filed
- Piles of CDs To-Be-Filed
For sure, the real work has yet to be done. It’s going to take me a long while to get everything filed away and organized. Hopefully I can report back more of my progress before our trip to Tybee this weekend.
